Jenadriyah Festival Event is a cultural and heritage festival held in Jenadriyah, near Riyadh in Saudi Arabia each year, lasting for two weeks. It is organised by the National Guard, and the first was held in 1985. Activities include a camel race, performance of local music and dancing of the Ardah and the Mizmar. The festival draws more than one million visitors every year.
This year, the Ministry of Haj and Umra attended this event with a special booth.
Adhering to Saudi Vision 2030 in serving Hajj and Umrah visitors, in promoting culture and entertainment of the Kingdom, and in achieving environmental sustainibility, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah wanted to present a new perspective from Makkah using a technology.
We provided and setup all the virtual reality requirement at the booth of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah. We installed BeThere Makkah and used it for the rest days of the event. We also gave a basic training to operate the system, prior the event.
People came to the booth of the Ministry and truly enjoyed the experience, even for Saudi people who have been to Makkah. This also remarks the first stage in developing the Holy City of Makkah using the power of virtual reality.
